At Araluen Botanic gardens in WA not a lot of birds spotted as there was a
flower festival on, but walking up into the botanic gardens we spotted 5 red
tailed blacks only 4m up and feeding on nuts. 2 juveniles were begging and
there appeared to be an adult female and two males. Walking up the road we
spotted 6 more red tailed blacks flying over. Driving back to the main road I
stopped to look at native flowers (which were spectacular in their diversity)
and heard some red tails and managed to count 25 or so, but all the activity
suggested there were more, probably around 40.
