Vaguely relevant though interesting was a sighting myself and two others had

at the Bibaringa property on Cotter Road yesterday afternoon.  Quite blowy

and cold, not the best conditions for birding, but obviously excellent for

deer! yes deer!  and most probably Sambar deer as this is the spp I saw here

a few years ago which I told the list about.  Not the large primary male i

saw then but three others, one of which appeared to be male in the quick (15

second) glimpse we got of them scooting through the now burgeoning

understorey of eucalypt regrowth.   Casually searched for them to no avail. 

Bit early for Xmas satire Geoffrey so spare the horses, sorry,

deer...............
