Red brows feeding on casuarina seeds.
I have noticed this a few times as well, and if I remember rightly it was mentioned in Immelman and also Cayley many years ago in their books on finches.

Yes Geoff, I too have noticed that "Red-browed Finches foraging among the seed capsules of the casuarinas". As this is unusual, (most finches eating just grass seed & insects), I gave this a mention in my GBS Report. It is mentioned in HANZAB too.
