I can't comment on the number of "caws", but pitch is the most significant
(if not only) way of separating the two Ravens on call.

Australian Ravens have a relatively high-pitched wailing call; the last
"caw" is usually drawn out and decending in pitch.  Little Ravens have
shorter, deeper "caws".  I've heard Australian Ravens doing a similar
call as the Little Raven, but the long last note and/or reversion to
their regular call gives them away.  (I've never heard Little Ravens
sound like Australian Ravens.)
