Likewise for the Reed Warbler, a bit
later in the day as the sun went down. Was also surprised to see a Baillon's
Crake daintily stepping its way along the grassy foreshore in the same area.
Watched it for 15 minutes or more as it appeared to walk on water (plants)
pecking vigorously as it went ever flicking its tail. In the same area were 2
Black Swans with 3 fairly young cygnets, not long off the nest I suspect, all
pulling at the carpet of bright green waterplant in that area to the left of the
Bittern Hide.
On Dairy Flat Road ran across a
female Flame Robin working the fenceline on either side.
