Hi!
I'm in total agreement with your sentiments. All
this all started ages ago and I'm mystified to know why it's reached
this stage. While it makes things a bit quicker to type, it takes a lot longer
to decipher the message. I think it would be a lot easier on
everyone, if the bird or what ever, was fully named first and then the
abbreviation of that name was used thereafter.

Ps I believe I previously wrote something on this
subject concerning a Brown Unidentified Mamma versus a Brown Unidentified Myna
and the difficulty in abbreviating the same.
