First Yellow-faced Honeyeater

I, too, have had one or two around our Macquarie garden for much of the winter, although there have certainly been some very vocal and active ones in the last week or so.  I had three excitingly diving repeatedly into our pond last weekend.  The only other species that regularly dive into the pond is the Red Wattlebird – all other species, that I’ve ever observed using the pond, wander around the edge looking for a spot where they can take a drink or walk into the water for a bath.

Frank

I have had one or two in mixed feeding flocks in my GBS area in Deakin most of the winter.  But yesterday, there were five YFHEs frolicking spring-like together with a sole White-eared HE (probably the one that has been around my place for a couple of months now) and two Eastern Spinebills.

Also a pair of galahs inspecting a hollow near my home (but outside my GBS).  All very Spring-like indeed.
