Worth a line of commemoration, Peter: I hung my hankies and three socks And reached down for my vestrel, When through the 'lastic of my Jocks, I spied a female kestrel. -----Original Message----- From: Milburns Sent: Tuesday, July 18, 2006 10:03 PM To: Subject: Latest addition to Laundry List While hanging out the laundry yesterday morning I recorded the first Australian Kestrel from the backyard in 16 years of observation! It was an adult female. This is a classic example of a long overdue record because this species is more or less resident in the horse paddocks (and now vineyards) no more than 150m away. I say more or less because they were absent (from much of the SE it seems) in 2003 and 2004. -- The Milburns 42 Bundey Street Higgins ACT 2615 **************************************************************************** *************************** |
