Hi Annette et al,
The Varied Sitella isn't a common bird on Ainslie
Majura....I don't know but having a feeling for the area I think it is
the same peregrinating party that one sees in my case about every
fortnight, they are sometimes at the back of my house on Mt Majura....As
to the Orange Wing,in Spring a good wheeze is to use a piece of
Polystyrene rubbed on a small square of spittle moistened glass to make
a sound like the Y.Robin alarm, these Sitellas if you stand in cover will
go quite mad around one and flit within 300 mm of ones face, when all that
registers seems to be the orange wings which give the impression
of being harrassed by a swarm of orange Butterflies...Good Luck,Terry
Gourlay.
