Greetings: We still have seats on the bus for
this tour around the Molonglo Valley to look for birds of prey. A
good opportunity to search for the (becoming rare) Little Eagle, Peregrine
Falcon and Wedge-tailed Eagle etc, as well as learn about the proposed urban
development in the Valley. A variety of other birds should also be
seen. Cost for the bus will be in the range $17-20 pp depending on
number. A second bus will be hired if we have the numbers. There will be some walking so you need to be sure footed: the
Woodstock Nature Reserve, at Shepherd's lookout near Holt (short loop down and
back up) and near Uriarra Crossing (approx 4.5km along a fire trail - fairly
easy with some ups and downs), plus other stops on the way. Need to bring
lunch and drinks for the day, wet weather gear if rain is expected. Finish
at 4pm. Full details in COG Newsletter Ganggang.
To book a seat, reply to this email. I will
confirm the exact meeting point later on: 8.30am at Coolemon Court Shopping
Centre in Weston Creek - plenty of parking.
cheers
Jenny
