Not sure if people know this; this morning gardeners working near the ponds in Westbourne Woods showed me a b bird's bower: if walking along cycle path from Brown St end turn right, up slope, just before the `bridge'/causeway between the 2 lily ponds; it's a muddy churned track.  At top of rise turn off to the right, back towards the `English Garden' till you find a metal garden seat to memory of one Peter Sutton; in shrubbery to left of this is a fallen log (the garderners were about to remove it when they found the bower and kindly desisted) draped with a dead creeper/vine. Immediately behind the log is the well decorated bower with blue-black male in attendance.
cheers
