Brilliant photos Geoffrey (now there's a tautology!). I think the plant
being eaten (or at least the corm is) is Romulea longifolia, 'Onion
Weed' (though various things are called that), that pink-flowered little
Sth African iris that's everywhere in spring. As ever, I'm happy for
others to correct me though!
