John

That's interesting because it was a tad earlier than last spring that I watched the Black-shouldered Kites at Rocky Knoll. Here's the entries from my birders diary:

May 4 2005 Rocky Knoll, Lake Ginn Pen. Pair Black-shouldered Kites. One carrying 5-7 stalks of dry grass. May 31 2005 Rocky Knoll, Lake Ginn Pen. Pair Black-shouldered Kites. Copulation/attempted copulation, also aerial prey exchange. June 1 2005 Rocky Knoll, Lake Ginn Pen. Single Black-shouldered Kite. Hovering and soaring.

I haven't seen any Black-shouldered Kites in the ACT since. And yes, Barbara Allan, I have these obs down on COG Incidental Reports and need to complete several more before dropping them by.

John Layton.
