Dear Birders, my friend Mark Yunker from Canada will be in Australia in August for a birding trip and would be grateful for recommendations for good finding-birds-guides for Western and Southern Australia. I would be grateful for your advice. Many thanks Jochen Hi Jochen, Niven's book arrived today. We will spend a few days reading it and then finalise the rest of our NT trip. Now that Niven's book is in hand can you recommend good finding birds guides for Western and Southern Australia? Currently we have the John Bransbury book "Where to find Birds in Australia". It is a good overview book, but parts are pretty dated (it was first published in 1987). It would be nice to have more specific and up-to-date book(s).
