I came across a group of 6 - 8 quail in Sth Durras last week while walking
in the low scrub/grass between the road and the beach. When flushed they
flew only a short distance and landed on the seaward side of the dune only
to move off quickly when sighted again. I'm pretty sure they were Stubble
Quail but never having seen a quail of any description before I can't be
certain.

Question for the "Coastwatchers" (Marnix? Terry?): any records of Quail
sightings on the coast, esp. this area in particular?

Also a couple of recent firsts for me in Durras were a White's Thrush and a
probable Large-billed Scrubwren.

Cheers
