It was interesting to read about the southside feeding
flocks. Here in Belconnen we are enjoying more than the usual numbers of
overwintering honeyeaters – and winter visitors. In the last few days I’ve
seen White-naped, White-eared, Yellow-faced, Yellow-tufted and Fuscous, along
with the resident White-plumed, variously at Lake Ginninderra,
The Pinnacle, Hawker Ovals and streets between. And today a courtship display
of two Spotted Pardalotes, spiralling around one another with much
wing-fluttering and excited chatter. b
