I'd suggest there are two particularly notable features of Magpie flight (in comparison with other birds):
 
1.    That it is typically very direct (like a flapping arrow) and
2.    the very pronounced upward motion to terminate any flight (even when landing on the ground). Most birds do this but it is more pronounced for this species than any other I can think of.
