and THE book - 'A Book for Maisie', being Maisie Carr (nee Fawcett) Alpine ecologist and one of the first (in 1940) to survey the Bogong High Plains and demonstrate to the cattlemen that grazing wasn't such a good idea - the debate is still continuing! Ian Fraser did a super coverage of the book in his reviews. Any further interest and you can contact me - $22 for 400 pages - a life and 3 previously unpublished papers on ecology of the High Plains, physiography of the alpine areas of NE Victoria and a small one on Eucalypts.
