Cattle Egrets

I was on a tour around the duntroon estate this morning - without binos!
 
I saw a flock of about 30 white birds very high.  I guessed Australian ibis, but now I wonder if it was the Cattle egrets?  The timing was around 10:30 to 11:00am.
 
Also, adjacent to the Duntroon diary above Morshead Drive, was a light phase Little eagle.  It circled around fairly low just above the tree tops.  High in the Eucalyptus trees near where it was flying, was a large stick-nest, about 3/4 of a metre in diameter and quite deep.  Do we have records of breeding Little eagles in this vicinity (on the southern slopes of Mt Pleasant)?
