I think you mean Clark N (1993). A Canberra sighting of the “Italian” sparrow. CBN 18(1): 1. And it was the University of Canberra, not the ANU, but it was outside the Union Building. b

On the subject of current comment about possible sightings of Italian House Sparrows in Canberra, I recall an item that appeared in Canberra Bird Notes, maybe ten or so years back (I no longer have my earlier CBNs), that described a bird, not unlike an Italian House Sparrow, on the ANU campus. Stretching the memory a bit more, I think it was in the vicinity of the Union Bar area. Maybe it was picking up pizza crumbs(!)
