Hi all,

When the COG Blitz was held in October I had the sewage ponds as part of my “area”. Virtually the first birds I saw after entering the grounds were a pair of Greenfinches. They were rather skittish and stayed well into the box thorn near the first easternmost ponds after the initial disturbance.

Saw a pair at Fyshwick Sewage Ponds this morning.  Perhaps I had just not noticed them before.  Can others confirm? (I have a fuzzy photo).  Certainly not sparrows or juvenile Goldfinches.

They sat on very top of boxthorns near the "sign in box" then flew back and forwards to top of other boxthorns to the north of the enclosure.

Plenty of Cisticolas but no grassbirds.
