Just this afternoon, I had a pair of Dollarbirds with 3 dependent young
perched out the back of my place in Latham [overlooking Umbagong Park].
They have been perching in the same location for about a week now. This
is the second year in a row there have been Dollarbirds breeding. I
have seen them here previously, but only in the last 2 years have I seen
evidence of breeding.

My question is one of a more local nature. Upon my arrival back home,
I found my property (near Murrumbateman) was inundated with an
unusually large number of Dollarbirds (a dozen or so that have become
resident to my place over the last few weeks/month. I don't suppose
this is unusual but I have never seen such numbers on my property
before. Has anybody heard of a cause perhaps of this influx of
dollarbirds or indeed has anyone else experienced it? I was wondering
if it was anyway related to the influx of superbs etc that has been
happening of late.
When do Dollarbirds generally migrate back up north (I presume it is
at the end of the wet season)?
Cheers, Geoff
