I was enjoying a well earned "coldie" with a couple of mates at the Weston
Ck Labour Club yesterday afternoon when we became aware of a battle being
waged on the empty bowling greens. A Magpie-lark was on its back trying to
defend itself from a savage attack by 2 Common Mynas As we watched another
2 Mynas joined in and things didn't look good for the Magpie lark as the 4
birds pecked at it viciously. Somehow it managed to gain its feet and
retreat, with the enemy stalking it until it eventually flew off to the
safety of a nearby gum tree. Whilst I have seen Mynas harass native birds
before I have never before seen them attack so viciously.

Cheers
