Hi all

This morning while doing a reptile survey at Gooroo was lucky enough to flush a Little Button Quail. It initially flew about 10 metres, I was able to put it up again and got excellent flight views as it rocketed off for a 100 metres or so before landing. Red-brown upperparts, white flanks and small size would seem to eliminate other quail spp. Note Stubble Quail are also in this area.

Directions - lower northern slopes of Sammy's Hill, immediately south of Dunnarts Flat, GPS 35 11 09 / 149 10 34. See the map on the COG website

cheers

Steve
