Hi again. Jack Holland (on behalf of the committee) has asked me to
remind you about next Wednesday's quiz night, representing the inaugural
COG meeting of 2006.
Salient points are as follows:
Time: 8pm, Wednesday 11 January.
Venue: Canberra Seniors' Club, Watson St Turner (just off Barry Drive
opposite the Environment Centre, by the Police & Citizens' Youth Club).
Easy on-street parking alongside.
Theme: Have fun, maybe learn a bit, be relaxed and not very
competitive at all! You don't need to be an experienced birdo to be
fully involved. There are of course some straight(ish) bird questions,
but many more where some knowledge of literature, Australia, silly puns,
luck etc will be of as much use! In other words I've tried to make it a
truly 'team' event.
On arrival you'll be randomly allocated to tables, so there'll be no
'serious' tables to compete against!
What I still need.
* maybe another volunteer or so to help with marking etc. A couple of
others who can arrive at 7pm to help set up, (then take part if you want
to).
* some small prizes (small and even 'silly' is just fine!).
* while you don't need to book, it would help to have some ideas of
numbers in terms of setting up tables etc. Just send me a brief email if
you've not already done so. (But if you make a last-minute decision,
please come anyway!)
Hope I can see you there.
cheers and happy birding
Ian
