Hi Folks,

I heard a Cockatiel at ANBG during a brief stop there late on Saturday afternoon (in the section below the cafeteria). I even clearly watched it calling but it wasn't. I knew it wasn't before I saw it. The Cockatiel calls were coming from an Olive backed Oriole, interspersed with usual oriole calls and mainly Crimson Rosella and other unidentified presumed mimicry. Nothing odd about that. It is just worth mentioning to highlight that this is a species whose call it probably learned some considerable distance away. (Years ago I once had one in my garden mimicking Wedge-tailed Eagle and Sacred Kingfisher calls.)
