I'm just back from a few days a little further west, which included stepping
out of a misleadingly dry tent one morning (yesterday) only to find myself
standing in an expanse of water several cms deep. Quite a bit of activity
out there, and as others have mentioned it is another good year for the
Crimson Chat. For those at all sensitive to colour combinations, the males
do tend to clash somewhat with the hue of the Paterson's Curse, which is
also having a fine season.
Did you know that the first great pulping of a proposed government
publication involved clay tablets back in the time of Rameses II? The first
page didn't have the word 'pharaoh' in it.
