On Sunday morning (before the PB Quail incident at home) Mary and I
walked up the fire trail to the top of Mt Budawang (east of
Braidwood). Sadly, the view from the top was utterly obscured by
cloud, though there seemed to be several Olive Whistlers calling. On
the way down we had very good views of a pair of Pilot Birds.
Interestingly, a Whipbird was very close to them for a while. Do
Pilot Birds engage in the same bludging behaviour with Whipbirds as
they are reputed to with Lyrebirds, as they flick leaf litter and soil?
We also saw a Crescent Honeyeater, quite on the mountain.
