A lone YFHE has just spent about 10 mins taking nectar from dozens of James
Stirling pittosporum flowers outside my first floor office window (the
flowers have a rich - if a bit cloying - evening perfume). Other news: our
currawongs are doing their bit to restrain the crested pigeon population
growth with a well gnawed fledgling on the ground under their nest;
scrubwrens have young in a nest - second lot. They are a few metres from
where they successfully nested a couple of months ago (which was where a
nest was about 4 years ago) - do they not return to the recent previous
nest but go to the trouble of building a new one because of parasites, or is
it probably a different pair, or all just random . . . ??
cheers
Barbara
