Resending a
message I posted on Sunday…
Michael
Wright and I braved a cold Canberra morning to visit Callum Brae today. It was
well worth the visit.
Highlights
were a solitary Rainbow Lorikeet, (my first for the ACT), two Long-billed Corellas
inspecting a nest hollow, at least two Jacky Winters (sighted at different
parts of the park) and at least three Diamond Firetails in a mixed feeding flock.
Early in the
walk and after commenting on the lack of honeyeaters, we found White-plumed,
White-eared, Fuscous and White-naped in a single tree.
We later found Brown-headed Honeyeaters near the entrance as we were leaving.
The Jacky
Winters are a clincher for me that spring is just around the corner.
Cheers
Alastair
