In Cairns Qld there is a dam for water skiing that
does not involve any boats. There is a cable system that goes around the dam
about maybe 10 metres above the water, so the skier does a continuous circuit
around the dam and presumably can get on or off at any point. I didn't have time
to have a good look at it. The skiers hold onto a cable that is attached to the
overhead moving line that pulls them along, thereby removing the need for a
boat. I assume that the speed would be adjustable to suit the skier. Couldn't
they put such a cable across LBG instead?
