On Wednesday 6/7 I went to the
National Gallery sculpture garden. Some interesting observations were a
dependent young of a white plumed honeyeater (juvenile feathers) being fed and a fuscous honeyeater. Also 1
white naped and a couple of yellow faced and 3 eastern spinebills. Also about 10
king parrots. Other usuals, except no willie wagtails. What I also thought was
interesting was a pair of striated pardalotes investigating a concrete ledge. I
have no idea why. It reminded me of recent COG list emails about striateds
investigating garages and other solid non-tree objects. Are they expanding their
nesting requirements??? Benj
