Elizabeth noted a Black Shouldered Kite perhaps 1km away from Mt Rogers.
 
I once hoped that there were resident BSKs on Mt Rogers but I'm sure the area is too small. What territorial area would they need?
However Tuesday's (21st) highlight was a "begging" juvenile with parent BSK in a dead Cootamundra wattle near the summit. (More evidence that these trees aren't valueless weeds)
Yesterday's highlight was a Boobook Owl very alert, unmolested and not particulaly wary of me. Both sightings occurred at about 13:00hrs in cold, partly cloudy to squally conditions.
