Dear Canberra Ornithologists,

A “very good friend” of mine is turning 30, and what could be a better present for anbodies birtday than a long-weekend birding getaway from Canberra. But where to go? Species envisioned are definitely western (Malleefowl, Plum-headed finch, maybe Orange or Crimson Chat, Bellbird, Red lored or Gilbert’s whistler, Black Falcon)  which makes finding the right spot a bit difficult given the drought but maybe somebody has been out there lately and can tip me off? So if you have any suggestions where I could take my “friend from Germany” just e-mail

Cheers

Golo
