Dropped out to Hume at lunchtime in the slim hope of finding a White-fronted Chat, but there was none in evidence. Nor were there any Dusky Woodswallows. In fact nor was there anything else. In the half hour I spent driving slowly along Arnott St, and the dirt track along the other side of the railway line, and the full length of Sheppard St, and back, and around about - I never saw or heard a single bird!
