I couldn't read the whole article as I am not a
subscriber to New Scientist but the description of birdwatchers as people
who drive all night and pee at the side of the road would describe the field
actions of most outdoor scientists. Whether we are sane or not is another
matter. I prefer to use the term eccentric myself.
However birdwatching is fun. It can be engaged in
at any level and is available to all.
