A very good question. I would think to have
trouble, even with a fairly good look, is to be expected. They certainly are
difficult, except by calls and the Skylark's display flight and song. Benj had
some good points. The beak shape difference is a goodish point, tail probably
also. I'm not convinced that a Skylark's crest is actually visible in most
circumstances.
