hello all

I was lucky enough to see 2 Zebra Finches in "the famous big thorn bush" in
Dunlop yesterday after waiting for about 45 minutes. Also flushed 2 Stubble
Quail from the roadside grass. There were at least a dozen Diamond Firetails
in the nearby trees.

This morning (tuesday) I went out to Kelly Swamp at dawn. The absolute
highlight was seeing a Black Falcon aggressively launching out of one of the
large pine trees behind the school, and slashing across the creek into the
mist, after being harassed at high speed by 2 magpies.

Thanks to Joe and Harvey for posting the initial sightings of these unusual ACT
birds.
And thanks to Milburn for his up to date info!

cheers
Mat
