Hi John,
I agree and have seen the Magpie-larks equally
getting upset by a (or two) BF Cuckoo-shrike (from my work site at
Fyshwick, where Magpie-larks are regularly present in flocks of 20 or more and
the BF Cuckoo-shrike only passes by rarely). And yes the BFCS in flight is
somewhat hawk-like. I think the name Cuckoo-shrike derived from that they
fly like cuckoos but aren't (almost as much as they aren't shrikes
either).
