Olsen, Crome and Olsen  (birds of prey and ground birds of australia) have it as Elanus notatus.
Many books I have checked have  notatus.
"What Bird is That' [first edition]   has axillaris.
the 4th edition has notatus.
Simpson and Day have axillaris with notatus as a previous name
this contradicts the evidence of "what bird is that?".
 
did i read them in the right order ?
