Perhaps of interest to some:

We spent Saturday & Sunday around Forbes and Nangar N.P. We had heaps of cockatiels and lots of bluebonnets north and west of Forbes. Nangar N.P. and Back Yamma S.F. were teaming with Noisy Friarbirds. Honeyeaters were also a bit scarce, but observed a striped at Back Yamma plus many yellow-faced and a small flock of yellow-tufted at Nangar. The thing that stood out however was the nearly complete lack of BOPs. We struggled to find 2 whistling kites on the Lachlan R., 3 kestrels, 3 black-shouldered kites, and a hobby the entire weekend, nothing else. Thornbills were also scarce. We had 69 species all up for the two days. A complete list is available if anyone is interested.

Cheers, Charles
