recapitulation of recent reports, no doubt incomplete. Barbara will know
the state of formal reporting -
ABR 03-04 said none for that year, last recorded Feb 01
25/10/03 CBN note 29:1 p25 Henry Nix saw one bird, heard another O'Connor
15/1-2/2 2004 single bird Mount Ainslie probable female
10/9/04 single bird Campbell Park/Mt Ainslie NR for few days
7/11/04 one sighting single bird Callum Brae
16/4/05 Michael Lenz reports current bird probable male at ANU
In case the current bird turns up where someone else can get a close look at
it, I might mention that it has a slight bill malformation - a tiny bump on
the top of the upper mandible nearer the base than the tip and only
noticeable from some angles
