This afternoon, I saw my first Painted Button-quail near the summit of Mt Ainslie (thanks for the tip-off, Ian.) The UBD (Yellow Pages) map reference is Map 50, D12. The PBQ was under a Casuarina tree on the edge of the steep slope of the pull-off on the northern side of the road. It disappeared down the slope, and I was unable to relocate it. -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Paul Taylor Veni, vidi, tici - I came, I saw, I ticked. ******************************************************************************************************* This is the email announcement and discussion list of the Canberra Ornithologists Group.
