All went according to plan as foreshadowed by David (thanks David). Good attendance, 26. I think, and some interesting new people, not just the firm core. Lot of time spent traversing Goonoo. A congenial and helpful landowner (with an interestingly veged property, thirsting for a bit of rain), and the two flushing loos, in roughly the colours of a Turquoise Parrot (which was seen much more fleetingly), were an acclaimed success. The usual medium-longish, fairly predictable, species list but bird numbers well down, depressingly so, at the end of a long dry summer. Glossy B-Cockatoos (about 20) came to drink at dusk at the dams we staked out, not being confused by reversion to EST. As for the personally memorable moments, these will be suitably embellished and retold around future campfires, but the below episode is more or less as I recall it.
