There were at least 5 freckled ducks on pond no. 6 at the sewerage ponds this afternoon. Blue-billed ducks were also well represented with at least 8 (6 male and 2 female) on the no.6 and no.4 ponds. Keeping an eye on the proceeding was a Little Eagle. Indeed raptors were out and about with Brown Goshawk, Collared Sparrow Hawk, Whistling Kite and Nankeen Kestrel seen during the course of my afternoon. The highlight of Kelly’s Swamp was 8 Black-fronted Dotterels and a single Red-kneed Dotterel. Cheers Alastair |
