I think there are lots, of both of these species
(red bishop and grenadier weaver or is it the Madagascar
Weaver) at the walk in aviary at Gold Creek. Try your luck there. Damn
difficult to tell them apart though and I don't know that I really was getting
it right. One of them is patterned remarkably like a female House Sparrow, the
other is only generally similar to a female House Sparrow. Of course they are
noticeably smaller and a slightly different shape. The coloured males are black
and orangish only in different parts. Then of course there is the female
Jacarini finches, Cuban finches etc, a real puzzle (but they are smaller than
the weavers).
