with special attention to be paid to rapporteurs over 50 years of age. You
may wish to coordinate your efforts with Ian Fraser who will be easily
recognised by the gold-lettered 'Official Crake Writer-up' jacket that Barbara
is supplying. If you find yourselves on opposite sides of the swamp you
may wish to use the services of our official Crake Despatch-rider who will
be mounted on a bright yellow motor-scooter. To attract the
Despatch-rider's attention without disturbing other crake-watchers, please
imitate, as quietly as possible, the call of a Little
Grassbird.
