My own experience was that I used 'Maned Duck' until I found
too many people asking me where the Assistant Duck was. For almost all
English speakers the pronunciation of 'Maned Duck' is exactly the same as 'Main
Duck', the exception being some Australians who like to refer to the 'Mined
Duck', which is likely to be perceived as a hazard to the Steamer
Duck.
