So far I've had three private replies about this. Summary of responses:
- Little Wattle-bird
- Probably a worn Little Wattlebird primary, hence the lack of whte tip, with alternative suggestions of Bar-shouldered, Peaceful or Diamond Doves
- Nankeen Night-Heron.

The doves are unlikely here almost in Melbourne CBD, while Little Wattle-birds aren't uncommon. Night-Herons are occasionally seen close to where I found it, but I wonder if it's too small for that. I'm also not sure if the pattern is right. Photos I've looked at suggest their wing feathers are mostly the nankeen colour, no dark brown.

Thanks for your suggestions, those who responded.

I was wondering if anyone can help id this feather, found today in Docklands, Melbourne. My guess is Little Wattlebird, but I thought it should have a white tip if it is.
