I tried that email twice at the time - no reply. It’s sad, i was very pleased with my Kowa bins, but a 10 year warranty is not much use when the retailer (Bintel) and the manufacturer (Kowa) go to ground.
On the bright side I was planning to upgrade my binoculars when I turned 60, but had an excuse to buy the Zeiss 2 years early :)

Hi Andrew and Aussie birders,
Here is the response I received to my query:
For Australia and Southeast Asia, all warranty work is done in Japan.
Please just have him visit the link below and include that he is in Australia (sometimes they will send service inquiries to me just because they are in English):
Maybe they could help with my Kowa 10x42s that seized up 2 years ago. It was within the 10 year or lifetime warranty, but Bintel who I bought them from, wouldn’t help, just told me the importer was no more. Would still like to get them fixed, nothing wrong with the glass, and they were good.
The Zeiss are nice though :)
I tried to organise some scope parts for Aidan Sudbury this week and was helped through a friend of a friend in the USA. Not Donald!
